Nepal has launched a major overseas employment drive, opening applications for 2,300 caregiver positions in Israel. The recruitment program offers competitive salaries and reflects the growing demand for healthcare and caregiving professionals in international labor markets.

Nepal’s Department of Foreign Employment has announced a large-scale recruitment initiative for 2,300 caregiver positions in Israel, providing a significant overseas employment opportunity for qualified healthcare and caregiving professionals.

The recruitment drive is being conducted under a government-to-government labor agreement between Nepal and Israel, designed to facilitate safe and regulated employment opportunities for Nepali workers in Israel’s long-term care sector.

According to the official announcement, applications will remain open until June 21, 2026. A notable feature of the program is its emphasis on female participation, with 60 percent of the available positions reserved for women applicants.

Officials stated that 1,000 selected candidates will be deployed in the initial phase, while final selection from the pool of eligible applicants will be conducted through a lottery-based process.

Successful candidates will be employed in long-term care centers and will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with severe physical or mental disabilities. Employment contracts may extend for up to five years, offering long-term career opportunities for selected workers.

To qualify for the program, applicants must be between 25 and 45 years of age and meet minimum health and physical requirements. Candidates are also required to possess specific educational and caregiving qualifications.

Eligible applicants include those who have completed Grade 10 along with at least 15 months of study in Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), Community Medical Assistant (CMA), or related healthcare fields. Alternatively, candidates who have completed Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification and obtained certified caregiver training from a government-recognized institution may also apply.

In addition, applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency by submitting the required language certification accepted under the recruitment guidelines.

Selected caregivers will receive a monthly salary of approximately 6,443 Israeli shekels, equivalent to around NPR 347,000 based on current exchange rates. While the compensation package is considered attractive compared to many regional employment opportunities, workers will be responsible for covering expenses related to accommodation, food, and travel.

Israel has increasingly turned to international recruitment to address labor shortages in its caregiving and healthcare sectors. Since initiating caregiver recruitment from Nepal in 2022, demand for trained workers has continued to grow, leading to expanded hiring quotas and broader participation opportunities.

The latest recruitment campaign is expected to attract significant interest from job seekers looking for stable international employment and career growth within the healthcare support industry.
